Motorcycle Tours and Rentals Cambodia  

Cambodia offers some great touring options and some quite remote riding areas mixed with unique temples and the warm hospitality of Cambodian People, we're happy to offer guided and self-guided rides in Cambodia.  As always, we'll create your guided tour to your ability and time, email us and let us know what you are up for!
 
Guided tours in Cambodia are a fantastic way to really maximize your time not only on the bike but at great locations throughout the country!  Guides are local Khmer residents and we offer two sets of tours, first out of Siem Reap and the second from Phnom Penh.  The tours from Phnom Penh will be updated mid September.
All Siem Reap based tours are priced at USD $175 per person per day for groups over 2 riders and USD $200 per day for solo riders. 

Included in this rate: motorcycle per rider - usually Honda XR with electric start, fuel, three meals per day, snacks, ice water, Tour leader, entry to various temples on the route, all ferry crossings, Helmet and jersey (boots and pants available at an additional charge), single rooms where possible, all jungle camping equipment (support vehicle needed), minor repairs to bikes, luggage storage while on tour and any local fees required on a normal tour.

Bike Rentals Cambodia
So you don't need a guide or program? No problem!  Bike rentals are available in Cambodia and out of Phnom Phen. There are some conditions to the rentals in Cambodia that are somewhat time consuming.  In order to have the 3rd party insurance cover your ride, you are required to obtain a Cambodia Driving Permit. 
This process takes 2 working days and is USD $45 per rider.  Please check the list of required documents.  All rentals in Phnom Penh require full payment prior to arrival and there is a USD $30 one time booking fee.

Siem Reap - Anlong Veng - Preah Vihear -Siem Reap, One of our most popular short trips for 4WD & Dirt Bike Tours
   
Duration: 3 days / 2 Nights

Challenge:
2 and a bit stars, moderate riding on unpaved national road to Anlong Veng. Unpaved new road continues all the way to base of Preah Vihear. Steep incline to both the Dangrek escarpment and Preah Vihear Mountain.   

Tour Summary: For those of you that are short on time, this tour offers medium challenge road and two excellent destinations. Following a transfer from your hotel to the bike base camp and a brief on the tour, motorcycles, safety instructions and procedures, start the three to four hour ride to the small town of Anlong Veng, 130 km north of Siem Reap. The beautiful Dangrek escarpment, 16kms further and part of the Dangrek mountain range, provides a natural border between Thailand and Cambodia. This town and area was the last stronghold of the Khmer Rouge.

Day 1: Enjoy an excellent lunch in the town before driving up the escarpment. Pol Pot lived here during his last years and died in his jungle hide out on the mountain in 1998. Tour of the mountain, visit with local people, dinner and over night in a spectacular mountain camp in comfortable wooden bungalows.

Day 2: Following a hearty breakfast, and a tour of Ta Moks villa in the town, continue east to Preah Vihear temple, a stunning temple located on a mountaintop, overlooking Thailand and Cambodia. The 125km journey passes through Kulen Prum Tep Wildlife Sanctury on a newly constructed road to the base of this isolated temple in the sky. Preah Vihear Temple was built over the ninth to the twelfth century and juts out over the surrounding countryside on a cliff. At the base of the temple, there is a small community of families who run the busy market, our resting spot. We stay with a prominent local family in their guesthouse.

Day 3 Full days ride back to Siem Reap with numerous stops and detours. Back in Siem Reap before sunset and in good time for a celebration dinner and some cold beers.

Accommodation: Mountain camp bungalows and a local guests house.

Food: No problems. Great restaurant in Anlong Veng.  Basic Khmer food available on the mountain. Small restaurant at Preah Vihear Temple market.

 
The Mini Circle

Challenge: 3 stars, moderate to a small amount of challenge, more endurance than anything, riding on unpaved, flat national road.  This route is well divided out with stops to allow for rest throughout and down time between destinations.

Tour Summary: Siem Reap - Anlong Veng - Preah Vihear - Tban Meanchey -Kampong Thom - Siem Reap Skip Kampong Thom, replace with Prasat Bakan  Our most popular tour… a great route for all seasons, minimum challenge, and exciting, good accommodation throughout.
4 provinces, 3 amazing temple complexes, 2 provincial capitals, 2 mountains, an old KR stronghold, all hotel & guesthouse accommodation and great food.
An average ride time per day of 4 to 5 hours.

Day 1:
Your tour leader and guide will meet you at your hotel and transfer you to base camp. You will be briefed on the tour, motorcycles, safety instructions and procedures. Depart Siem Reap for Anlong Veng, over 130 km north.  This was the last stronghold of the Khmer Rouge and is located. Paul provides an in-depth historical background and a tour of the mountain. Settle in for sunset and a relaxed night in this beautiful mountain camp.

Day 2:Following breakfast and a tour of Ta Moks Villa in the town, drive 125 km through small villages along the border of Kulen Prum Tep Wildlife Sanctuary to Preah Vihear, an isolated temple in the sky.   This temple sits overlooking both Cambodia and Thailand. Accommodation on the mountain in a local guesthouse with the small market community that live at the base of the temple.


Day 3: Sunrise over Preah Vihear. Drive on rough roads to Tbeng Meanchey, the lively capital town of Preah Vihear Province. This is a small friendly town and a passing through point. You will be able to visit a local silk-weaving co-operative. Lively central town square with restaurants & local entertainment. Good food and accommodation available in local hotel. Drive time 5 hours, distance 130 km

Day 4: Stop off at Sambor Prei Kup, a seventh century complex of temples surrounded by forest before hitting Kampong Thom town, the capital town of the province set on the Stung Sen river. This is a busy market town with a selection of hotels, restaurants and entertainment.  Great food and accommodation in local hotel. Drive time 5 hours, distance 150km.

Day 5: Return to Siem Reap after a visit to Santuk Mountain, a holy place just outside of Kampong Thom, containing many shrines but its outstanding feature is a reclining Buddha carved on to rock, one of the largest reclining Buddha’s in the world. Flat road back to Siem Reap in time for sunset. Check-in to your hotel and wash out the dust and aches and pains of long day’s travel. Reconvene at Hidden Cambodia’s base for dinner and drinks to celebrate the journey.
















 
Round Cambodia Tour

Challenge: 4 stars, moderate to a small amount of challenge, riding on mostly paved with some unpaved flat national road and some side trips on smaller roads to hidden destinations. The route is well divided out with stops to allow for rest throughout and down times between destinations. Daily ride time is about 5 hours.  Idea trip for those with pillion passengers.  

Tour Summary:Siem Reap – Kampong Thom – Phnom Penh - Kep / Kampot – Bokor Hill – Kampong Som - Kampong Som – Phnom Penh - Siem Reap.  A taste of the high life, this exciting trip covers 7 provinces in a relaxed manner and takes in the very best attractions along the
way. Temples and religious sites, the buzz of the capital, the sea breeze, mountain strongholds, sandy beaches and coconuts in the shade.  All with comfort, good company and great food to back it up - this one has something for everyone, a trip to discover the emerging heart of Cambodia.

Day 1: Your tour leader and guide will meet you at your hotel and transfer you to base camp. You will be briefed on the tour, safety instructions and procedures for the tour. Depart Siem Reap to Kampong Thom, provincial capital and half waypoint to Phnom Penh. Following lunch, check out the nearby temples of Sambor Prei Kup, a seventh century complex of temples surrounded by forest. Back to Kampong Thom for a stroll around this bustling market town which was built on the Stung Sen river before enjoying dinner.

Day 2: Following breakfast, visit Phnom Santuk, a holy mountain just outside of town. Over 800 steps to the top for fantastic views and one of the biggest reclinging Buddahs. This is a busy road to Phnom Penh but there is a great opportunity to see the countyside. Arrive in good time to take in an afternoon city tour or visit some markets. Sunset at the riverfront, followed by dinner & tour of the local hot spots.

Day 3: They call it “The Kings own country” and for good reason.  The road to Kep, Kampot is picture perfect and is said to one of the most beautiful provinces in the country. A short jaunt brings us beside this old seaside coastal resort and French colonial town.  Famous for it seafood, the group has an opportunity to visit Kbal Chay waterfall and the surrounding spots before settling in for the night.

Day 4: Still in Kampot province, neighbored by Vietnam, we climb Bokor National Park. A scenic drive through the forested mountain brings us to the summit. Here we find an array of burnt out buildings.. a casino, a catholic church, scenes of past fierce battles. On a good day there is a view of the coast of both Vietnam and Cambodia. Tour of the mountain. Overnight with the local rangers in their base on the mountain.

Day 5: Once down, travel east along the coast road to Sihanoukville, Cambodia’s main seaside resort. An earlier start will give us plenty of time to explore numerous beaches and this friendly town.

Day 6: A days touring around Sihanoukville takes us to Ream National Park, a small fishing village and a few local runs and haunts. Good sand practice time! Additional beach time for those that would like it and some interesting NGO projects to visit.

Day 7:
Morning drive to Phnom Penh and afternoon free to see some of the attractions. Last chance to see the bright lights of Phnom Penh.

Day 8: Home drive to Siem Reap. Visit with local people in their homes to understand the life of farmers and local people.  Back in time for sunset and celebrations. Reconvene at our base for dinner to celebrate the journey.

There are no refunds for any unused services of the tour. Tour prices are subject to change without notice. but not after you are confirmed.
All quoted prices and payments are in US dollars. 


Prices do not include: Airfare to your start location, visa for Cambodia, personal expenses, hotel accommodations before the trip begins or after the trip concludes, wine, beer, mixed or soft drinks, hotel incidentals, travel protection or medical insurance.

Bookings: By email Before making a final booking, guests normally exchange a number of e-mails to establish exactly what their requirements and preferences are. We ask for riders to fill out a riders background form prior to booking. Most groups and individuals are booking more than 4 to 6 months out. Vital information is  your dates,  numbers in the group, how many days and rider experience.  We are happy to join up like skilled individual riders for tours also.

The Bikes: a selection of XRs 250cc  Honda, electric start,  Honda Baja 250cc kick start &  CRMs.
Note : We own and maintain all our own  bikes in our dirt bike shop, 15 in total at any one time. The bikes have been prepared carefully for the trip,  fitted with good tires and checked over.  A lot of you  are riding higher end bikes back home and finished with  these a few years ago but these are the best fit for here.. solid,  dependable and for those that think you are good - it can be quiet difficult to stay on!

Our Tour Leaders acts as your guides, mechanics, advisers, translator and many other roles all in one.  Guides transport all equipment with them to carry out minor repairs and spares, if needed, while on tour. We have additional support staff,  sweepers & support staff  (cooks, mechanics, security) that travel with larger groups to assist at no additional cost other than the support vehicle rates.

Support Vehicle: We have an accompanying 4WD if riders do not want to carry anything with them on the bikes on their backs.   Cost for support vehicle is  $185 per day for vehicle,  the cost being divided between the number of riders. This support vehicle will carry cold boxes of pre ordered beer, water,  food for remote camp outs in remote locations if needed and all luggage.                                                     

Equipment: We provide helmets,  jersey and gloves to all riders If you have your gear, best to bring it especially knee & elbow protectors. The pros come in with all their own gear. We are happy to store luggage for people in the base house while they are on tour.

Pillion passengers not ideal but they pay only a charge for their expenses if traveling on the back of their partner’s bike.

Routes:
The routes matched to the riders: They vary. Some more difficult challenging routes can be classed as Enduro and with a combo of Motocross. These routes are usually 5 to  7 day rides and are for  experienced riders, those who ride/race regularly at home and for whom riding is a major sport, hobby, major interest,  life passion. Have all the gear and gadgets. Looking for new wide open ground which is difficult or next to impossible to get at home. Add to that a remote and difficult route that could have either sand (powder) or mud (a special Cambodian consistency) or both depending on what time you are in and where you ride.  

Routes also for those that... ride at home, have their own bike/bikes, will buy a bike, want to fine tune their skills, happy to ride for five to 7 days, interested to see the culture and ride at the same time or those  not in any big hurry. Medium to Good riders. May have done a lot of dirt or may have done years of black top road before and some dirt. Able to control their speed. Inclines, bridges, hard ground, medium dirt road, some bumps,  some sand,  some mud ok

Routes for those that have not been on a bike for a few years but after one day they are back into it, interested in a nice pace, regular stops, meet the people.

Routes that have fairly flat dirt road all the way!

Routes for first time riders/learners- hand picked for them to practice their newly learned skills.

Large Groups:
We can cater for up to 12 riders in addition to our own team that travels with the group. We offer discounts for groups of 6 and tailor make complete packages that included transfers, Angkor tours and transport to and in and around Siem Reap, accommodation  Please contact us directly. We also offer full travel services from those arriving ouside of Siem Reap ( eg. Phnom Penh or borders)  and need assistance or holidays before or after their trip with us.

Booking and Payments:

  • To secure your tour, a deposit of 50% is required to hold all services.  The tour deposit is via bank transfer to our US account or Lao Account. 
  • Final balance is to be paid 60 days prior to the tour start date. 
  • Your deposit for the tour is 50% refundable if you cancel more than 60 days prior.
  • If you cancel during the 60 days prior to the tour start date, your initial deposit is non-refundable and balance payments will be refunded to the date ranges:
    0 - 30 days - Total payments non-refundable
    31 - 45 days - 50 % of the final payment refunded, initial deposit non-refundable
    46 - 59 days - 75 % of the final payment refunded, initial deposit non-refundable.

In the event of a cancellation, we are happy to move the same booking to an alternative date if both parties can accommodate a change in dates. Remote Asia Travel cannot offer any refund once a tour has commenced.
 

Motorcycle Damage Deposit:
Please note that all normal wear and tear of the bikes is included in the tour price and your bikes will be cleaned and serviced as required. However, to deal with potential significant damages to the bike, we require that every rider place a Refundable Motorcycle Damage Deposit of $200 prior to starting our tours . This deposit covers all damages other than normal wear and tear. Any damages will be deducted from this deposit, and the balance returned to you on the final day of the tour. Guests can lodge their passport with us for the duration of the tour.

Responsibility: Remote Asia Travel and its partners do not assume responsibility for bodily injury, nor for any damage or loss of any personal effects, luggage and personal belongings, personal injury, accidents and illness.  Remote Asia Travel reserves the right to alter the itinerary at any time for the convenient operation of the tour, dates of departure or return, or withdraw the trip if deemed necessary at any time, for any reason.

Pre-trip Meeting: For all those traveling on a 3 day tour , we will meet them on their arrival in Siem Reap  before the trip departure to discuss the route and all aspects of the trip. Those undertaking a 5 day trip or more, we ask that they be in Siem Reap by 2pm the previous day to discuss the route, check bikes and complete remaining payments.

Terms and Conditions

-­‐ You must have a valid motorcycle driving license from your home country in order to obtain a Cambodia driving license ($45) then get an insurance coverage.
- The insurance covers Third Party Liability only. We strongly recommend you contract also a personal "Travel Insurance", including Medical Evacuation and Hospitalization to ensure that you are fully covered when riding motorcycle.
‐ A helmet must be worn. Without a helmet you won’t get any insurance coverage.
Insurance cost : USD 5.00/day (included in bike rental tour prices)
Deductible : USD 20.00 (for each and every claim)

We can arrange a Cambodian Motorcycle Driving License if you provide us with the following documents:
