Introduction
We start in the World Heritage site of Siem Reap exploring temples and the surrounding area followed by a boat trip across the Tonle Sap Lake to Battambang for a closer look at Cambodian life and then on to the capital, Phnom Penh where we learn about the legacy of the Khmer Rouge and balance our time with a course in traditional Khmer cuisine. As with all our trips, the schedule can be reversed or modified as you wish.

Day 7: Khmer Cooking Course
After breakfast, you enjoy a day learning about Khmer cooking as well as creating and sampling the various dishes. You’ll learn and practice recipes that you can take home with you and create authentic Khmer meals for family and friends, an excellent way to bring a taste of the culture to compliment your photos. There are several courses depending on the day of the week and availability at the local market.
*Note: There are cooking classes every day of the week, except Sundays as that is our teacher-cook's weekly day off.

Day 8:
In the morning your guide will meet you at your hotel and we head to the Tuol Sleng Prison Museum where your guide will explain the history of the Khmer Rouge and walk you through the different museum displays. After watching the movie they show every day, we drive out to the Killing Fields, where a memorial stupa and shallow pits remind visitors of the thousands killed under the Pol Pot Regime. We enjoy lunch at Friends, a restaurant benefiting at-risk street children.
After lunch your guide will take you to Central Market, reported to be the biggest covered market in the world, and to the famous Russian Market where everything from souvenirs to car parts is for sale. You will be taken to the airport in time to catch your evening flight.
