Introduction

an eco-resort near Vientiane to recharge your
body and relax along the Nam
Ngum River. For those that are interested in just a short
overview of life in Laos, a
tour of the highlights of Vientiane
combined with true Lao Style relaxation is sure to please.

Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Vientiane – Ban Pako
You will be met at the Friendship
Bridge or Watay airport. Lunch
in town is followed by a visit to Carol Cassidy House, a Gallery weaving Lao textiles and natural dye making
process from A-Z. For those that are here in Laos for a Thai
Visa renewal, a trip to the consulate precedes any activity.
We continue to Ban Pako and overnight at Ban Pako Eco-Resort.
Located on a lushly forested bend of the Nam Ngum River, it is a beautiful part of the
world and a relaxing getaway. We check in to the hotel and take a
walk around the site. This site itself is an interesting archeological site dated back 2000 years. The day is completed with
the herbal sauna in the forest. Dinner tonight is riverside at the resort.

Day 2: Ban Pako – Vientiane Tour - Departure
Following breakfast, we return to Vientiane
and we’ll visit Wat Sisaket,
the oldest temple to have survived the Siamese war of 1828 and its cloister
contains more than 8000 Buddha statues. We then make a short trip to Ho
Prakeo, the former home-temple of the Emerald Buddha statue or Pra Keo from the early time of Lane Xang Kingdom until 18th
century, but today it contains a collection of Buddha statues,
antiques and all artifacts found in around Vientiane. We then go to the most recognised symbol of
Vientaine, That Luang Stupa. Built
to cover the original small stupa containing a piece of the chest bone of
Buddha, That Luang serves as the main and
symbolic stupa in Laos as well as being the largest stupa in Laos We then visit Patouxay (Arch de Triumph), built quite recently in
commemoration of those who died during the wars in the past and it is today as
the land-mark of Vientiane.
Lunch is at a riverside restaurant, After lunch, you will be transferred to the airport or the Friendship
Bridge. Those coming for the Visa run
will be driven to the Thai Consulate and the day touring cut a little short.
