Vietnam’s greatest 3-day adventure: Every day showcases the diversity of cultures and scenery to be found in Vietnam. We’ll wind our way through narrow laneways and the picturesque delta , before heading to the hills. Day 1 ends at a remote hilltribe village where you will get to share in the hospitality of the Ka Tu people. Wake to the sounds of village life before heading into some of Vietnam’s most spectacular jungle pathways on Day 2. Our day ends in the historic city of Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial capital. Day 3 finds us cruising through coastal fishing villages before traversing Vietnam’s highest mountain pass, Hai Van, then cruising down to Hoi An with glorious views of Vietnam’s famous coastline (weather permitting!).

Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Hoi An to Ba Hom (110km)
Delve into the heart of central Vietnam with this 3-day Hoi An Motorbike Adventures excursion. We set off from Hoi An this morning on what promises to be an unforgettable voyage of rugged roads, rustic villages and stunning highlands. Pack your sense of adventure and leave behind those preconceived notions of touristy villages: this motorbike journey is the real deal. With the wind in your hair, we zip through the Hoi An countryside to Marble Mountain where the thrill-lovers among us can opt for an abseiling adventure into Hell’s Cave. We then head west and climb our way into the mountains.
Midday we’ll arrive at Ba Hom, a traditional Co Tu village where we will stay for the night. Little has changed in the past hundred years in Ba Hom and it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Central Vietnam. A light trek through the village outskirts takes us over the Ho Chi Minh Trail to a set of therapeutic hot springs where we can go for a refreshing dip. The evening is highlighted by a superb dinner of Co Tu traditional dishes and a chance to interact with the villagers, gaining more insight into their rich culture. Afterwards, retreat to your stilted Co Tu hut where the serene setting and clear mountain air will lull you to sleep.

Day 2: Ba Hom to Hue
Day two of your motorbike adventure begins with breakfast in the village and a chance to watch the morning activities of the Co Tu. Bidding farewell to our hosts, it’s then back on the bikes to resume our adventure through the rugged highlands of Central Vietnam. This time we follow a new section of the Ho Chi Minh Trail toward the Lao border, crossing through lush rainforests and over mountain passes on roads perfectly suited to motorbikes. Keep your camera handy as the views are certainly photo-worthy.
Midday we take a break for a picnic lunch in the shade of a mountain waterfall. Take a swim in the cool waters or simply lay back and relax in the solitude. We then begin the last stretch of today’s motorbike journey, descending down to Hue. But the adventure isn’t over yet. The landscape continues to change as we make our way to the flatlands, passing through A Shau valley- an area that played a key role during the American war- before catching glimpses of the iconic Perfume River from the hills. We cruise into the centre of Hue in the early evening.

Day 3: Hue to Hoi An via Hai Van Pass (190km)
Rise and shine, it’s time to set off on the final day of our Motorbike Adventure. Today’s bike journey takes us back to Hoi An by a different route, trading in the mountains for the gorgeous Vietnam coastline. We head east from Hue and then travel parallel to the sea, passing through fishing villages and along pristine sandy beaches for the first part of the drive. The salty air and refreshing sea breezes are a dramatic contrast to the mountain air from the previous days. We’ll stop often to dip our toes in the sea, chat with fishermen and to take photos. At the half way point of our drive we climb to Highway 1’s highest point, Hai Van Pass, where panoramic views of the coast are all around. The road then winds down toward Hoi An, passing through Danang city and the famed China Beach.

Note:
Your tour leader will meet you at your hotel reception at 6pm the evening before your tour departs. They will have a short meeting to discuss your tour and any special requirements.

Optional Abseiling at Marble Mountain on day 1:
We walk up Marble Mountain into the rappelling area, which takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
The first rappel is a short walk from the practice area and enjoys a fantastic view of the ocean. This 22 meter line has great exposure, fantastic scenery and makes you feel like you are much higher than you actually are.
Then we do our final rappel; a monster 50 meter drop into a gaping hole so deep and dark that you can’t see the bottom. This fantastic cave rappel drops right out of the jungle down into a temple chamber. Get ready for a full on Tomb Raider experience!

JUNGLE RIDER ADVENTURE LOOP (5 days)

Highlights: Ethnic minority villages, Cham temple, Hai Van Pass, Local cuisine & picnic lunches, Old-growth rainforest, Mountain waterfalls, Ho Chi Minh Trail, Hamburger Hill, Khe Sanh combat base & museum, Crossing the 17th parallel, Historic Vinh Moc tunnels, World Heritage sites, Phong Nha / Ke Bang National Park, Optional Abseiling at Marble Mountain.

Stunning scenery, gorgeous roads and great riding: pretty much the perfect combination for an unforgettable jungle adventure.  With five days up our sleeve there is plenty of time to get well off the beaten track. We’ll head into the remote mountains of the central highlands and into the famous Phuong Nha National Park – one of Vietnam’s few remaining pockets of old growth forest.  Tightly restricted access to the park means you’ll be one a very select few who will get to experience this stunning World Heritage site and the cultures that live within it. To maintain our feeling of seclusion, we’ll take a unique coastal route back to Hoi An, giving the chaos of Highway 1 a wide berth!

Day 1:
Countryside Riding:Hoi An to Ba Hom
Setting off from Hoi An this morning on your Hoi An Motorbike tour, it is quickly apparent that this is going to be a journey like none other. The Vietnam countryside comes alive in a whole new way as you pass through the fields and villages of Hoi An on a motorbike.
The route takes us away from the coast and into the hills, an area often inaccessible by normal car. As we wind into the mountains we’ll come across ancient Cham ruins and famous American war sites, hopping of our bikes to snap photos and explore the tourist-free areas. At midday we’ll reach Ba Hom, where our Co Tu hosts will welcome us to their village. Lunch will be served in the village and then we’ll venture further into the mountains with a light trek. The route crosses over the original Ho Chi Minh Trail and leads us to a therapeutic hot spring where we can swim and relax in the healing waters.
This evening our hosts prepare a traditional Co Tu feast. Dining in the village on the local cuisine and sleeping in their stilted houses gives us the rare chance to experience firsthand the traditions of Vietnam’s ethnic minority people. This is a true taste of authentic hilltribe culture- an experience that is increasingly difficult to find. (110km)

(Accommodation: Private bungalows)
(Meals: Lunch, Dinner)

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh Trail: Ba Hom to Khe Sanh via A Luoi
Rise and shine for day two of our Hoi An Motorbike Adventure. After breakfast in the village, we say goodbye to our hosts and resume our bike ride to Khe Sanh. Today’s journey traverses the historic Ho Chi Minh Highway through lush rainforests and over magnificent mountain passes.Take a refreshing dip in a mountain waterfall at midday, where we’ll break for a picnic lunch.
We begins the afternoon, winding  through  the A Shau Valley, a ruggedly beautiful valley that became famous during the American War as the site of many battles, the most famous being Khe Sanh, where we stay for the night. Before we check into the hotel we visit the Museum and former combat base, which was under siege for 67 days. (235km)

Our full day adventure for everyone!

Leave the other travellers behind and experience the diverse sights and sounds of Vietnam’s country lifestyle. We travel to the base of the mountains via quiet countryside avoiding the traffic on Vietnamese Highways. We visit Thap Bang Cham tower, famous US war sites, and cross the Thu Bon River by local ferry. We have lunch at a local restaurant, enjoying traditional central Vietnamese cuisine.
On the return trip we ride the unique “floating bridge” lane route, do high 5s with local kids and enjoy picturesque views of the sunset as it fades behind the mountains.
